Welcome to your weekly Monday Memo. As we settle into the fall season—a time for reflection, renewal, and growth—this week’s edition highlights early childhood and parent resources, funding and nonprofit opportunities, professional development and trainings, and youth-focused resources. Before we dive in, here are some reminders and highlights from the RG Team:

RG UPDATES

  • Save the Date for Our Next General Meeting Regional Showcase: Building Resilient Futures – Youth Mental Health in Action: Join us on Thursday, November 13, from 11AM – 12:30PM on Zoom for our next Regional Showcase centered on supporting Youth Mental Health. We will spotlight six Resilient Georgia Regional Coalitions and their innovative youth mental health initiatives. Discover how local partnerships and creative strategies are strengthening well-being and resilience in Georgia’s communities.   • October Peer-to-Peer Meeting Recap: Exploring Federal Grant Opportunities: Thank you to everyone who joined our October Peer Network meeting! Teresa Raetz, Founder of Transcend Advisory Group, covered key readiness steps, strategic considerations, and common pitfalls for organizations seeking federal funding.   • WSB-TV Special on the Opioid Crisis featuring Cammie Wolf Rice: WSB-TV aired a segment highlighting how the opioid and fentanyl epidemic has impacted families across the state. The program featured personal stories from families and individuals in recovery, showcased local responses and resources, and aimed to break through the stigma surrounding addiction. The segment also spotlighted our close partner Cammie Wolf Rice, sharing her powerful personal story that inspired the founding of the CWC Alliance and her ongoing advocacy to prevent overdose deaths and support families affected by addiction. Coalition Highlights


Cobb Collaborative: Cobb Collaborative has recently expanded its coalition reach to include Cherokee and Douglas counties! Their partners at the City of Canton, Kennesaw State, and Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce are hosting a free educational workshop series on nonprofit education Thursday October 23rd from 8:30AM-12PM at Canton City Hall Auditorium. This series is for nonprofit executives to learn to build capacity and revenue for your nonprofit. ARCHI: On November 14 from 8:30-12:30 PM, ARCHI is hosting “The State of Metro Atlanta Health”, a conference for leaders focused on the future of health in the Atlanta region. Hear from speakers, collaborate with leaders, and converse on health data, strategies that address root causes of inequity, and more. Register here, this event is free. 

Early Childhood

Early Childhood Changemakers - EC2 - GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS) is building a network of trusted community leaders, parents, caregivers, educators, and local champions across the state who want to help shape early childhood policies and systems in Georgia. Eligible candidates must be 18+, must live and/or work within: Augusta/Richmond County, Columbus/Muscogee County, Statesboro/Bulloch and Bryan Counties, have a passion for early childhood and be to commit 5-10 hours a month. Complete the interest form to becoming a Changemaker here.

Funding

RWJF Grant Opportunity: Health Equity Scholars for Action: The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Health Equity Scholars for Action (HES4A) aims to support early-career researchers who are systemically underrepresented in health sciences and related fields. Grants are awarded for applicants that demonstrate challenges and/or barriers to full inclusion in their research disciplines because of their personal characteristics and/or experiences. The deadline for letters of intent is November 6. Learn more about this opportunity here.

Nonprofit Resources

What nonprofits must know about the President’s Sept. 25 memorandum | Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN): A timely resource from the Georgia Center for Nonprofits navigating the President’s National Security Presidential Memorandum 7. This memorandum impacts tax-exempt organizations, particularly those engaged in advocacy and organizing. Learn more on the full memorandum here and practical steps nonprofits may take here. Additionally, GCN is offering a Nonprofit Strategic Options Workshop for nonprofits that want to evaluate risk, opportunities, and options to make key decisions and advance their organization. The virtual workshop is October 22 from 9-10:30 AM. Learn more and register here

Parents and Caregivers

 When Dad’s Tired: Finding Balance, Battling Burnout, and Being Present Quality Care for Children’s article “When Dad’s Tired” discusses how parenting burnout often develops gradually, highlights warning signs like emotional exhaustion, irritability, and fatigue, and encourages fathers to practice “micro self-care,” establish intentional routines or rituals, share responsibilities with co-parents, and build a “burnout first-aid” plan. Their webinar, “Burnout, Balance & Being Dad: How to Thrive,” offers practical insights for dads on recognizing burnout, finding balance, and staying present.

With comprehensive tools—like secure messaging, shared calendars, expense tracking, and more—co-parents can handle all their co-parenting tasks in one app. Dr. Karli Okeson's has a series of lectures with OurFamilyWizard including videos on Managing Secondary Trauma and Reclaiming your Experience: Recognizing Micro and Macro exposures to Trauma, focused on recognizing trauma and caring for oneself and others.  

Professional Development and Events

CBT for Anxiety in Adult Primary Care Course Registration: The REACH Institute is offering a new one-day training, CBT for Anxiety in Adult Primary Care, on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET. This interactive course will equip providers to screen, assess, and apply evidence-based CBT techniques for anxiety in primary care, while also recognizing when patients may need specialty care. The training provides practical skills to enhance patient support, and CME details are available in the attached flyer.   


GSU Child Welfare Training Collaborative: Knowledge to Action Conversation on GA THRIVe, Infant Toddler Court Program: The upcoming Knowledge to Action Conversation will discuss GA THRIVe’s Infant Toddler Court Program on October 23 from 10-11:30 AM. It will cover the impact of early experiences on infant and early childhood mental health and positive outcomes for families when support starts early. Learn more and register here.  


Wellspring Living's ACTIVATE Conference 2025: Wellspring Living is hosting A Conference for Awareness, Collaboration, Transformation, Innovation, Voice, Anti-Trafficking Engagement (ACTIVATE) on November 6-7th at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. This conference is designed to educate, equip, and empower advocates, professionals, and community members in the collective effort to combat human trafficking. Learn more here, register hereand navigate the CEU guide. 

Youth

North Carolina Youth Help State Leaders Redesign Youth Mental Health Services in North Carolina:  In August 2025, 38 youth from across NC participated in Youth Design Day, an event that ensured young people play a central role in shaping the Changing Minds: NC Youth Mental Health Action Plan. Participants shared personal experiences and identified key priorities for improving youth mental health, including addressing academic and social pressures, reducing stigma, expanding access to services—especially in schools—and strengthening support from trusted adults and peers.
