Supporting: Brooks, Colquitt, Decatur, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Thomas

Dr. Jennifer Mitchell is currently the Assistant Director of the Office of Campus and Community Partnerships at PCOM South Georgia, where she blends strategic vision with hands-on engagement to strengthen health and wellness in rural communities. A 2024–2025 graduate of the South Georgia Women’s Leadership Initiative, she serves on the boards of the Colquitt County United Way, UGA Archway, and the Vashti Center for Children & Families, championing local projects that bring resources directly to families in need.

Since joining PCOM South Georgia in 2021, Dr. Mitchell has led efforts to narrow gaps in care across rural south Georgia by building a network of partnerships. Under her guidance, the campus has forged over 40 new community partners from school systems, non profits, and health systems. Some notable programs include mentoring and gardening programs with the Boys & Girls Club to mobile health-screening events at the Sunbelt Expo, ensuring that services reach every corner of the region. Her latest project is leading the charge as a Co-Lead for PCOM South Georgia’s partnership with Resilient Communities of Southwest Georgia to help build an integrated, trauma-informed behavioral health network for children, youth, and families across nine rural counties in the region. Her approach centers on listening to community voices, co-designing programs with local leaders, and measuring impact through concrete health outcomes.

A scholar-practitioner at heart, Dr. Mitchell draws on her doctoral research in Student Affairs Leadership and her extensive background directing student support services to develop workshops and seminars that bolster community capacity. Her presentations from “Health and Wellness Pop-Up Clinics: A Community-Centered Approach” at national public-health forums to conflict-resolution trainings for local high-schoolers, reflect a commitment to collective problem-solving and shared responsibility. Whether convening stakeholders around a conference table or rolling up her sleeves at a mobile clinic, she brings dedication, empathy, and unwavering optimism to every endeavor.
