Erica Simpson is a Prevention Project Director with Legacy Behavioral Health Services and Co-Chair of the South Georgia Wellbeing Alliance. Before moving into prevention, she spent more than a decade as a middle grades math educator, an experience that continues to shape the way she works with young people, families, schools, and communities today.
Erica believes the best prevention work starts with relationships. She enjoys bringing people together, finding practical solutions, and making sure South Georgia’s communities have a voice and access to the resources they need. Her work focuses on strengthening protective factors, supporting healthy choices among young people, and building partnerships that create lasting community-level change.
A Prevention Credentialing Consortium of Georgia Certified Preventionist and University of Georgia graduate, Erica is especially passionate about serving rural communities throughout South Georgia. She believes resilience isn’t just about overcoming challenges—it’s about building the relationships, supports, and sense of belonging that help people and communities grow stronger together.
Outside of work, Erica is happiest spending time outdoors with her husband, four children, granddaughter, and their five dogs.
