Katie New

Resilient West Central

Dr. Katie New serves as Clinical Director at Bloom Our Youth, where she leads Bloom University and oversees the implementation of therapeutic services for foster youth. In this role, she facilitates the development of foster parents and professionals, ensuring clinical fidelity to trauma-informed care models. She also leads the organization’s national accreditation with the Council on Accreditation and provides expertise in policy and procedure development, program design, grant writing, and regulatory compliance.

Dr. New holds a Doctorate in Education in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Social Work with a concentration in children, adolescents, and families from the University of Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science from Kennesaw State University. She is also dually licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Registered Nurse (RN).

With over 17 years of experience in youth-serving organizations, Dr. New is a dedicated advocate for children and adolescents impacted by trauma, abuse, and neglect. She is deeply committed to advancing programs that promote healing, resilience, and long-term well-being for Georgia’s most vulnerable youth.
