Lisa Rigdon

Resilient South Central Georgia

Supporting: Appling, Candler, Emanuel, Evans, Jeff Davis, Johnson, Tattnall, Toombs, and Wayne

Lisa Rigdon is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration. For more than 20 years, Lisa has dedicated her career to serving children, families, and communities through Georgia Family Connection.

As the Candler County Family Connection Coordinator, Lisa has helped develop and support programs that strengthen families and create opportunities for young people. Her work has included 21st Century after-school programming and the Boys & Girls Club, providing services and opportunities for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. She also leads The Bridge Family Resource Center, which connects Candler County families with food, clothing, financial assistance, and other vital resources.

Lisa believes servanthood is one of her greatest spiritual gifts and considers it a privilege to help families find hope, support, and opportunities to thrive. She is especially passionate about promoting positive mental health and building resilience among children and teens.

Through her work with Resilient Georgia, Lisa is helping bring positive mental health education, encouragement, and resiliency-building efforts into local communities and schools. This work includes the Resilient Rooster initiative, which combines daily positive mental health tips, encouragement, and faith-based devotionals, along with youth engagement through the regional Youth Advisory Council.

When Lisa isn’t working, her greatest joy is spending time with her family—especially with her four boys at the baseball field. All four grew up playing baseball, and Lisa’s love for the game grew with every season and every game she attended. Over the years, she has watched baseball teach her boys important life lessons about perseverance, teamwork, discipline, handling success and disappointment, and getting back up when things don’t go their way. Just as importantly, the game has brought many wonderful families and lifelong friendships into their lives. Those experiences have helped shape Lisa’s passion for encouraging young people to become resilient both on and off the field.

Lisa is honored to collaborate with partners across Appling, Candler, Emanuel, Evans, Jeff Davis, Johnson, Tattnall, Toombs, and Wayne counties as they work together to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities throughout South Central Georgia.

Her heart for the work is simple: serve others well, strengthen families, encourage young people, and help communities become more resilient—together.
